At Peter Belanger Photography, we respect your privacy and understand your concerns to keep your personal information secure and private.  The following is a set of guidelines we have put forth to express our concern on maintaining your trust in keeping information submitted to us safe.  If after reading this, you have any questions or concerns, please contact us at stock@peterbelanger.com. 

Personal Information

Upon registration, your name, billing address, phone number, and email address will be collected.  This information is kept on file in order for you to be a registered user on our web site.  Being a registered user on the site provides you with many benefits, which include saving your lightboxes, inviting friends to view your lightboxes and making purchases.  You do not have to be a registered user to look around on our site, but if you wish to save anything you have seen, make purchases and want us to remember you, and then you will need to register.

The information collected in the registration process will be kept on file on our secure servers for our records only.  No information that we collect during the registration process is sold to any third parties.  We will use this information internally for purposes such as to process your orders, to maintain your account, or from time to time send an email promotion.  If you wish not to receive any email promotions from us you can opt out by checking the box that refers to this when you register for an account.  If you have already registered but would like to stop receiving our email promotions, please see the instructions in the “Opt Out” section below.

E-mail

Peter Belanger Photography does not rent or sell email lists collected from users of the stock site.  We will use your email address to send you news and information from time to time about new features on our site or other Peter Belanger Photography related promotions.  If you wish not to receive any email promotions from us you can opt out by checking the box that refers to this when you register for an account. If you have already registered but would like to stop receiving our email promotions, please see the instructions in the “Opt Out” section below.

From time to time our marketing efforts may overlap.  If you have opted out of the email list related to our stock site, there is a small chance that you may receive an email promotion from alternative email list (for example, AdBase).  If this is the case, to have your name removed from the alternative marketing efforts, please click on the “unsubscribe” link within the email.  We apologize for any sort of redundancy that may occur. 

Automatically Collected Information

Any computer that is connected to the Internet has a domain name and IP address. When you visit our website and view any of the pages our web servers will store this information automatically in log files, along with your browser type, operating systems and dates/times you visited the site.  This is the case for most websites on the World Wide Web.  This information does not link to your personally identifiable information.

Information at Point of Purchase

Financial information that is collected is used to check the users' qualifications and to bill the user for products and services ordered.  Financial information collected is not permanently stored anywhere on our server.  It is strictly used by our third party merchant account provider, Network Solutions (http://merchantaccounts.networksolutions.com), to process orders.  The customer's contact information may also be used to get in touch with the visitor when necessary. Users may opt-out of receiving future mailings; see the choice/opt-out section below.  At the time of purchase you will need to have the following information available:  name, billing address, email, phone number, credit card number and expiration date. 

Security

The security of your personal information is important to us. We chose not to permanently store your credit card on file. Credit card purchases are sent with SSL encryption to our third party provider, Network Solutions, for processing. We do however keep your name, billing address, email address and phone number on file on our secure server, which has limited access in a secure facility.  Despite our best efforts, there is no perfect security on the Internet.  We cannot guarantee that our site is impenetrable to hackers; however, we make keeping your information safe and secure a top priority.

Cookies

From time to time, when visiting our site a ‘cookie’ will be sent to your computer.  A cookie is a small piece of data that is sent to through your Internet provider from a Web server.  This information does not harm your computer in any way, and does not have the ability to take information from a computer.  It is used so that when you return to a site, the servers will recognize you and know where you have visited on the site, so that the pages will be readily accessible.

Minors

Any one under the age of 18 is not eligible to use this site without a parent/guardian’s permission.  Furthermore, we ask that minors do not register for a user account or submit any personal information to us.  By registering for an account and using this site, you affirm that you are at least 18 years of age or older. 

Lightbox Referral

When using our lightbox referral service to invite a friend to view a lightbox, all that we ask from you is your friend’s name and email address.  An email will automatically be sent, inviting your friend to visit the site, through a link included in the email.  We do not retain this information for any reason.

External Links

This site may contain links to other sites.  Peter Belanger Photography is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of other such websites. Selection of an ad banner or link redirects User to a third party. Transactions that occur between the User and the third party are strictly between the User and the third party and are not the responsibility of Peter Belanger Photography.  Because Peter Belanger Photography is not responsible for the availability of these outside resources or their privacy policy or content, User should direct any concerns regarding any external link to its site administrator or Webmaster.

Opt Out

To opt out of receiving future mailings and/or promotions, log into your account, under “Account Settings,” and clicking on the link “change your account settings.” Alternatively you can send an email to stock@peterbelanger.com with the phrase “Please Remove me From Mailing List” in the subject line.

Legal Disclaimer

If required by law, we may be forced to disclose certain personal information.  We reserve the right to change, modify or amend this privacy policy at any time. If we make any significant change to this policy, we will post a notice of the change on http://stock.peterbelanger.com/privacypolicy.
